Caelyn's in Gymnastics

Each gymnastics class we took Chloe to Caelyn would get more and more eager to be in the gym. She hated just sitting up in the stands. I had actually just asked a friend of mine where she was taking her daughter cause I knew Caelyn really just wanted to be in the class (yes, I could tell how bad. She was literally trying to climb through the fence). So I just took the plunge and signed her up, which was good cause my Aunt Cindy had offered to get her a session for her first birthday. Lets just say she was so excited. Chloe just happens to be in the gym at the same time so it works out. Chloe's friends Allie and Drew (we met him through Allie) are in her class while Caelyn has Will and Leigh in her class (we have met Leigh through Will. Drew and Leigh are siblings). Here are the few pictures I took of Caelyn's first class (January 15, 2010). She is the youngest in there so she needed alot of Parent help. I am hoping that I can get Aunt Cindy to come one week to take a bunch of pictures for me. These were all taken from my phone so they are not the best. But Caelyn was all over the place.
This is Caelyn and her teacher Miss Julie.

Gymnastic Awards

At the end of each term, Chloe's gymnastics class gets evaluated. It is fun to see how much Chloe has learned and where she has improved. She also gets stickers and ribbons. Each sticker she gets represents a specific skill in an area of gymnastics and to receive a ribbon, she has to receive all the stickers in that area. Right now Chloe is in the Juniors Program at Barron Gymnastics. She has three ribbons and 23 stickers. If only she would land her cartwheel on her feet she would have four ribbons and be able to move up to the Advanced Juniors level. But she still can't/won't. I am hoping within the first week or two of the next session she will land her cartwheel and be able to move back up with her friends.

Gymnastics Term 2

Chloe has loved gymnastics since about the 5th class of her first term (which was this summer, each term is 9 weeks). So we signed her up for a second term and she is improving all the time and she says she really enjoys it. She can monkey walk on the uneven bars, hang in an L position for 3 seconds, hold herself up on the bar with her arms, she can dismount off the balance beam, hold her bridge for a count of 3 and so much more. One of the big reasons why I wanted her in gymnastics is because I can't do a cartwheel (well I never could) and I am not flexible at all. I also wanted her to try something that I never did. So in came gymnastics. I hope she keeps it up, but of course if she wants to stop she will.
She still needs a lot of practice and encouragement but she is getting better. She even looks forward to going to gymnastics. She loves the attention and that people watch her. And always wants someone other than mommy there to see her.

Gymnastics

These are not the best pictures but Chloe's last class of gymnastics had a little ceremony. And of course this was the ONLY time I didn't bring my camera so I used my phone. I have been waiting to post these because I had asked a mom of a girl from her class if she would email me copies but she hadn't yet (I hope I get them). This was the first time in the 6 weeks she did class that she walked right into the gym and didn't have me go in with her. I was so proud. She came out of the class asking when does she get to come back. So we signed her up again and she starts August 19. I hear everyday, when do I start school and gymnastics.
