Iiiiiiiit's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Mary Poppins landed in our house (way back in March) for Chloe's Birthday. I could have swore I posted these pictures but I guess I didn't. Sorry Aunt Lisa. I still haven't gotten her completely in the outfit and well I still haven't taken pictures of the second outfit that Aunt Lisa made and sent (it was from Jennifer too). It is my goal this summer to get her into the outfit so I can get pictures of her. I am not sure why she won't wear it. She wears all the other ones that Aunt Lisa has made. So I hear that one of the reason's why Chloe won't put on her outfit is because she is worried that Marry Poppins will be made at her for wearing her clothes, I think Chloe might get a note from Mary telling her it will be alright for her to wear them.

The outfit came complete with the hat, apron, gloves, scarf, jacket, and CARPET BAG! seriously how cool is that? My Aunt Lisa did an amazing job, but then again I knew she would, her and my mom would make out costumes for Halloween as kids and well, we were some pretty cool things, ie Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck, He-man and She-Ra, Micheal Jackson and Boy George just to name a few.

Easter Project

This year for Easter I decided to make the girls' dresses. Since i really hadn't sewn since high school I purchased a pattern on Etsy. It was alot of fun and very fulfilling to make the girls dresses. You'll have to wait until the next post to see how the girls look in them. =)

Projects: Felt Food

All the rage is felt food. Haha, I just had to say that but it is. It is more realistic then the plastic stuff, it is eco-friendly, and the big WOW is you can throw it in the washer on delicate and line dry it. Well, my girls love it. They can't get enough of the ones they already have (thank you Aunt Lisa). They actually play with the felt food more than the plastic. So far they girls have a piece of chocolate cake, a cupcake, butterfly sugar cookie, round sugar cookie, a donut, bacon, a sunny side up egg, 2 pancakes, toast with jelly, a ham sandwich (2 pieces of bread, lettuce, cheese, & ham) chips, and strawberries (for give me Aunt Lisa if I for got something). Aunt Lisa made everything but the sandwich, strawberries, and chips. But for Easter their baskets are going to be full of food. I decided to slowly start making and replacing the plastic with felt food. Since I have been working I have had some down time at the office so I was able to take some sewing supplies and make the girls some felt food.

Sneak Peak: My projects

Lately I have been working on some projects for the girls. Some will be making their debut in their Easter baskets, and some they will be wearing for Easter. But I wanted to give you a small sneak peak of one of my many projects I have been working on .

Lucas Turns 1!!

So a friend of mine, Jenn N, that I met online during wedding planning (but never met until we had kids) asked me to make a banner for her son's first birthday party after she saw the one I posted on Facebook. Of course I said yes, and I was really excited about the theme she was doing, balloons. I had a lot of fun putting the banner together. Maybe in all my spare time I will start making and selling them. From what I saw online and comparing my supplies cost, I can sell them cheaper than some of the ones I found on esty. Here is one that is cute but I like mine better. And this one is really cute and I know I can make something like this (the price would be right where I would have mine too). I think for Caelyn's party I will be doing something like this to put on her chair!

Another Party Preview

This is the banner I made. It was done with card stock, cricut cutter, xyron sticker machine, ribbon, and hot glue. Only took me 30 minutes from start to finish total. This was so easy I know I will be making one for each birthday for the girls.

I seriously can't get over how fast this year has gone by and that I am already planning Caelyn's first birthday party. It is nuts how fast time goes by the older you get.



I was talking to my girl friends one weekend about what "themes" we were all going to use for our little one's first birthday party or party. I had no idea. I had mulled the idea around about doing something similar to Chloe's first birthday, where we were revisiting the 100 Acre Woods 3 years later but honestly I just didn't "feel" it. So one day I was emailing back and forth with my friend Leanne and she gave me a website called Hostess with the Mostess. In this website I came across this blog post about a Modern Garden Party and knew I wanted to do this for Caelyn's party. I am recreating the things this mother did for her daughter's first birthday but changing up the colors to what I wanted. I am super excited about all this. Here is a sneak peak on what I already have done.

As far as the invites go, I loved the ones from the website so I emailed my friend Ame Dickey of Dickey Design and got her on board with the production of invites. Let's just say she rocked these out! She was amazing. I think she was even as excited about them as I was because her turn around was about a week and a half. I got them an entire week before I figured I would get them. Oh, she was the one who created Caelyn's birth announcements as well.



So of course during all the emails with Leanne the talk of her Birthday out fit came up. For those who were not able to be at Chloe's first birthday she wore this outfit: Well it just happened that Leanne had posted pictures of her beautiful daughter Olivia in her birthday outfit a week or so prior to this conversations. So what does any woman do when she sees something she likes? I asked where she got it. She got it on Etsy.com from a shop called Uniquely Monogrammed (you can check out their blog here).

So everything is coming together and I am happy that I decided to make everything myself. I have saved a bunch and I know (even though I am using ideas from someone else) Caelyn's party can't be duplicated. Look for more "previews" because I am working on a couple new things right now as well.
