I was talking to my girl friends one weekend about what "themes" we were all going to use for our little one's first birthday party or party. I had no idea. I had mulled the idea around about doing something similar to Chloe's first birthday, where we were revisiting the 100 Acre Woods 3 years later but honestly I just didn't "feel" it. So one day I was emailing back and forth with my friend Leanne and she gave me a website called Hostess with the Mostess. In this website I came across this blog post about a Modern Garden Party and knew I wanted to do this for Caelyn's party. I am recreating the things this mother did for her daughter's first birthday but changing up the colors to what I wanted. I am super excited about all this. Here is a sneak peak on what I already have done.

As far as the invites go, I loved the ones from the website so I emailed my friend Ame Dickey of Dickey Design and got her on board with the production of invites. Let's just say she rocked these out! She was amazing. I think she was even as excited about them as I was because her turn around was about a week and a half. I got them an entire week before I figured I would get them. Oh, she was the one who created Caelyn's birth announcements as well.
So of course during all the emails with Leanne the talk of her Birthday out fit came up. For those who were not able to be at Chloe's first birthday she wore this outfit:
Well it just happened that Leanne had posted pictures of her beautiful daughter Olivia in her birthday outfit a week or so prior to this conversations. So what does any woman do when she sees something she likes? I asked where she got it. She got it on Etsy.com from a shop called Uniquely Monogrammed (you can check out their blog here).
So everything is coming together and I am happy that I decided to make everything myself. I have saved a bunch and I know (even though I am using ideas from someone else) Caelyn's party can't be duplicated. Look for more "previews" because I am working on a couple new things right now as well.
