Tummy time

So I have another one that doesn't like to have tummy time. Thus I have to be creative on how to get her to do it without fussing the second I lay her down. Well, I love the boppy. Caelyn is getting so much stronger that I am sure pretty soon she will not need the boppy and she will be able to just chill on her belly.
Well, last night I was finishing up my grocery list sitting in our living room chair with a TV tray in front of me. Caelyn was on her play mat on the floor. I could not really see her with the tray in front of me. She was laying there talking away and I just just talking back to her. I would say we did this for a good 20 minutes. She was happy, I didn't really see the need to stop and I was on a roll getting everything organized. When I finally finished and moved the tray to get up this is what I found. Super baby rolled herself over!!! I was so sad to know I was sitting right there but I missed it, but so excited that she did it. I called Dave into the room right away and ran to get my phone to take a picture. I don't know how long she had been laying on her belly but she didn't start getting made until after I snapped this picture. I hope that I will see her roll more and more. She has been rolling to her side for about 2 weeks now.

Playtime

At Grandma's house, Caelyn has a bounce seat that has this neat little bird that you can spin by pulling the strings. She really has recently started to use her hands. She really concentrates on them to get them to do what she wants (kinda like she thinks so hard smoke comes out her ears..lol) Well, she has started grabbing the rings and moving them but she has yet to pull them on her own. When the bird turns though she gets a huge smile of accomplishment. I am sure it will be soon that she will start being able to make the bird spin on her own.

Baby it's cold outside

So it has been really cold here lately. I had to break out Chloe Pooh bunting suit for Caelyn. She looks so cute!

Enjoying her Advent Treat

Visit From St. Nick

I am alittle late posting this but here are pictures of Caelyn sporting her outfit and sun glasses St. Nick brought her. Chloe got a fair load and I didn't get to get a picture of her things. But she got her Christmas outfit, a Tinker Bell shirt, a snowman cup, princess tattoos, a princess notebook, and a Christmas movie (Elmo's Christmas Countdown). She looks ready for that Florida sun!!

Advent Calendar

Since having Chloe I have been looking for an advent calendar. I really fell in love with the Pottery Barn (below) one this year. It was everything I had been looking for. I didn't like the box shaped ones because the present areas just were not big enough, pretty much the size of a M&M in my opinion. I wanted to be able to give more than candy. And I just loved the whimsical style of the tree. I love fun things and this was just fun looking to me. But the down fall was the price. It was 70 bucks when I first saw it. So of course I knew it was not in the budget and I needed to keep looking.

So fast forward to Thanksgiving time. My Aunt Lisa was in town for the holiday and personal matters. One night she was planning to come out (the night we made those wonderful sugar cookies). But she had to finish something first. So after a couple of calls saying, just alittle longer, she made it out. She had a present for us in the car. So when she walked in I was presently surprised with what it was. She had handmade a tree advent calendar. She didn't even know (at least not to my knowledge) that I wanted one. She said she figured everything out in her head and didn't even use a pattern. It is awesome. Chloe loves it too. She knows that she is allowed to get her prize out after nap when daddy gets home. And lets just say the minute Dave walks through the door she is wanting help to get her prize.
It is so cool. I am extremely impressed with her mad sewing skills. Which really I have always known about since she and my mom made numerous Halloween costumes back in the day. She is my artsy aunt. It is something Dave and I are so proud to have as a new tradition.

LECE Winter Wonderland

Last night on top of other birthday activities, we went to Chloe's school for Winter Wonderland. It was their annual fundraiser for the LECE Foundation. There were games, crafts, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Chloe's BFFs were also there, they are too cute. And well Dave and I really like the adults as well..lol. Chloe had so much fun seeing all her friends on a non school day and doing activities with her Daddy. I was wearing Caelyn so I just watched.
Chloe doing the snowman toss. She got 4 balls and actually got one through the hole on a throw (no cheating). She has got her mama's mad softball skills!
Next she made Reindeer Antlers. With help from a Parent Educator, Chloe traced her hands and "cut" them out 9really she did one cut to show she could use the scissors then Dave and I cut them out). She decorated them by coloring and added stickers. With the help of Daddy her band was wrapped and stapled to make her hat. I have to say, she makes a very cute reindeer. No hunting here though, there is no Chloe season. We also made Reindeer food. It was oats and glitter (at the Cookies with Santa, which I will post about here soon, they actually made an edible reindeer food with oats birdseed, and cinnamon, but silly mommy left the paper bad outside and got it soaked).
Chloe also made a stocking, necklace, bracelet, and an angel while we were there. She had so much fun. I think she would have wanted to stayed the entire time but she was getting hungry. I can't wait for next year, both girls will be able to participate.

Thank You's and a shout out

First off Happy Birthday Jenn. I never knew anyone who had the same birthday as I but now I do. So Happy Birthday Girl (sorry it's a day late).
Secondly Thank you to everyone who sent me a Birthday message. And a special thanks goes to Beckie for being the only one to serenade me yesterday. It was awesome! My Aunt Cindy took Chloe, Caelyn, ad I out to eat at one of my favorite places, Tokyo Sushi. It was yummy! Chloe was working on her fine motor skills by eating with chop sticks. I think she did a decent job. Maybe she will be the first in our family to be able to figure those things out. My lunch, spider roll and spicy tuna roll. Going in for the pick up.The transfer to mouth. Success

Backing up alittle

Monday night, I had my Aunt Lisa over (who was in town visiting for Thanksgiving) over to bake cookies. We really didn't back to many for the fact that the sugar cookie dough was too warm and it just wasn't working well. But we did manage to get two circles. So Chloe and I each decorated one. Here is Chloe's final project:

It's B-day

So today is my birthday. I am the big 2-9. I can't believe I am 29 already. Where has the time gone. I mean as a kid I can remember hos slow the year went by and how I would wish my birthday would come faster, and how the school year was a snails pace, and how summer went by way too fast for my liking. Well now nothing goes slow. It seems like everyday goes by way to fast and the years go by faster. I wish someone would hit the slow play button. It just amazes me, in the five years I have know Dave, our lives went from dating, to engaged, to married, to first time parents, and then to second time parents.
