Dear Old Friend
Why would you even think about inviting me to your wedding, when you didn't acknowledge that over 3 yrs ago I got married. You didn't come to my bridal shower nor RSVP to come to my wedding. You didn't acknowledge that I even had a kid 27 months ago. Oh, and you surely didn't call me when you found out my grandpa died (you and I both know treated you very well during our many years together). So why in the world would you even contemplate inviting me to your bridal shower, bachelorette party, and last but not least your wedding and reception? I totally don't understand it at all. And I honestly have issues with the fact that you would do this after knowing that you didn't once reach out to me when I contacted you about 1) my wedding and other events, 2) when I told you I was pregnant and then when I still left you the message that I had a little girl, and 3) never once called or sent any type of communication when my grandpa passed away. I surely didn't miss being there for you when your grandparents passed. So why now am I so important to you that you would include me in these festivities when you could not be there for me during mine?
Sincerely
Your long and finally lost friend
Cassie
-hopefully saying this outloud (is this concidered saying it out loud?) will help me with the fact that this situation really pisses me off.

Today is the start of a big girl life
This morning might be the day. I say might because I am not sure how well it will go, but Chloe used the big girl potty!!!!
I was going to the bathroom she walked in and said, "Chloe use the potty too. " She pulled down her pants and helped take her diaper off and sat down. Within seconds she was peeing on the potty. She even "pushed" like she was going to go poop but only farted. She was very proud of herself. I asked her if she wanted big girl pants on and she said yes. So we are in underwear too. I am hoping my "wait til she is ready" approach is working. I am totally stoked at this accomplishment. I have set an alarm for every 30 minutes to go try and will be attempting what they call the fast method, giving drinks and food for "prizes" to promote more potty use. Keep your fingers crossed.
Chloe has also been signed up for preschool this fall. If the class is still open she will be going Tuesday/Thursdays. She is pretty excited when we talk about it and I am hoping here in the next week to get up to the school and take a tour of the classroom so Chloe can also see it. She will be going to the same school I worked at when Dave and I started dating. It is in our school district. SO cross your fingers the woman I know still runs the class because she was wonderful!

Learning as we go
Okay, so all the mom's out there will probably laugh and maybe say, been there done that. I knew my kid would get into everything, little did I know that I would have to lock down the bathroom. I don't own much "girly" stuff, but for some reason she finds it. I own ONE, just one bottle for finger nail polish. I personally never apply it. I always take it with me when (should I say if) I get a pedicure. Well, Chloe found it. I know she has watched my mom paint her fingers and toes (have you fig
ured out where this is going yet). And I while in Florida have painted her toe nails to look all pretty in her sandals.
So it goes like this, I pop an Elmo tape in and tell her to sit and watch it because I need to go change over the laundry. I go downstairs and change it out. I fold the yellows up, place the sheets in the dryer, and lastly start a load of Chloe's clothes. I come up the stairs and my nice clean basket of reds/pinks is all over the sitting room floor. I call her with the intentions of making her pick them up and place them in the basket but she doesn't come. I stand there listening and lets say the silence was disturbing. So I start calling her and walking down t
he hallway. I found her on my side of the bed (which is closest to the wall) holding my orange polish. I instantly started to freak. I took it from her and noticed her fingers were polished, then looked down to inspect the floor to find out that she actually painted her toes too.
I continue my search to find exactly where the polishing took place. My biggest fear is that she got in on the hardwood floor. I walk through the master bed room, the hallway, Chloe's room, and then head to her playroom (which is carpeting). I found nothing. I continued to look starting in the master bath. Well I found the nail salon. She had sat on the floor in the bathroom and painted her nails. But that is not all she paint
ed. She painted the toilet set.
So the lesson I have learned from this experience is that when I go downstairs, I need to start putting the baby gate in the door jam of the playroom to trap my kid in there so I can do my cleaning. To all the mothers out there or future mothers, your bathroom and beauty supplies (and kids at times) will need to be in lock down if you are not able to watch it like a hawk. And I will repeat, since being a mother I don't do a lot of the girly things I did before, and mani's and pedi's are not my weekly routine.
I cleaned up Chloe's toes and after I got through the frustration she actually didn't do to bad of a job. I left the polish on the her toe nails. Her fingers were another story. She only got 2 nails and the rest was just a mess.
Drum roll please
I know you all have been waiting, well those of you who aren't able to Melissa's blog, to see how cute Chloe is with Genevieve.
This was taked when Genevieve was about 2 wks old. I am hoping the next time we go over there to get some more pictures of the girls together. Lets just hope that this is a forshadowing of what Chloe will be like towards her little sister.

Travels with a Toddler
Background story: We were driving home from the lake this weekend. And Chloe sees her cup in the cup holder. C- Chloe M-Mommy D-Daddy
C: Mommy, water please
M: Chloe your cup is empty. We need to get to a gas station to get you some more.
C: Water please
M: We need to get somewhere so daddy can stop and buy some water
C: Daddy STOP please!!!
(at this point Dave and I are laughing very hard cause she sincerely was telling him to stop to get her water)
D: Chloe I can't stop now, there is no place to stop and get some water.
M: Chloe look, the sign said in 3 miles there is a gas station
C: Okay, daddy stop in 3 miles.
What an adventure. Not only did this conversation occur, Big Bird attempting to jump out the window and Chloe was telling him no, Elmo pooped his pants (what pants, Elmo doesn't wear clothes according to Chloe), and she sang "Oh Susana, "Home on the Range," and "Ice Ice Baby" about 10 times.

Funny Story
Okay, so I have no pictures right now but I have what I think is a funny story. For Chloe's birthday her Aunt Khristy bought her a "doctor kit." It cams with all the doctor necessities, the stethoscope, thermometer, blood pressure boot, etc.. Well since finding out we were expecting I have been taking Chloe to all the appointments with me. And the big thing right now is listening to the heart beat. Every time we hear it I tell her that is her sister (prior to finding out I would say brother or sister). So the when we get home she would get out her stethoscope (which happens to play a heartbeat sound when you push a botton.) and put it on my belly. She would say "shhh hear that. Baby sister!" Chloe would get extremely excited over hearing the heartbeat.
Well fast forward to today. I was sitting on the bed and Chloe was playing with the stethoscope. Well she puts it on the dogs butt and goes, "shhh baby's sisters heart." Dave and I start cracking up. So we had to tell her the her sister was in "mommy's belly" and that she was hearing Punkin's heartbeat (from her butt..lol) Not the best anatomy lesson, but we did what we had to do. She then brought the stethoscope to my belly and said, "oh there's my baby sister."
