Science: Seedlings

With Spring right aroundthe corner, Chloe and I start thinking flowers. Especially since her school just had a spring bulb fundraiser. Each year I have let Chloe pick seeds out and grown them in the planters on the patio. This year I thought it would be fun to start the seeds out in a indoor green house. Eaceh girl picked out a packet of seeds. Chloe picked Convolvulus (which are close to Morning Glories), Caelyn picked Cosmos, and I picked Poppies. It has been so much fun waking up each morning to see how the seeds have changes. We are waiting on one last row (of course my poppies) to fully sprout so we can plant them in out planters.

This is how they started out.

Here is the seeds just starting to sprout.

Here are the first few rows completely sprouted. Just need about 5 more pods to completely sprout.

Happy Spring!!

Jennie, this was the first year we brought them inside and it won't be the last. Normally we just plant the seeds directly into the planters outside, but Chloe and Caelyn have had so much fun watching the sees grown to a plant. Next year I migh even try herbs or a vegetable.
