Go Chloe, it's your birthday!
So as I already announced, Chloe turned 2 on February 28th. Time flies to freaking fast people. We had her party on March 1, which happened to be my Grandma Parkin's 79th birthday birthday (last year we also had Chloe's birthday on March 1). We di
d an Elmo themed party and it turned out great. We invited 25 people and all 25 showed up (yes this was mostly family with the exception of the Lorenzes and the Nortons). Chloe had a great time. She was surrounded by her family and her friends (yes she has friends, Samantha, Emily and Conner). She played with everyone and did a great job with having all the people in the house. I was worried she would be alittle scared.
The party started a noon and we served lunch first, then we opened her presents, then last but not least we had cake. We once again got the cake from Pat at Sugaree. When Dave went to pick the cake up, she told him we are the only wedding couple (she did our wedding cake) that she does birthday cakes for, no one else, just us. I feel so blessed and could not imagine going anywhere else for our cakes. They are divine.

Chloe recieved a clock, an Elmo doll, blocks, an Elmo movie, and so much more. She also got
a tone of clothes and some money for her savings account. My parents got her a chair for her play room so she has something to sit and watch her movies in while Dave and I bought her a bike and a helmet. She is too cute riding the bike. Of course her leg muscles need lots of strengthening and of course practice, but she loves to ride her bike.

Chloe Turns 2!!!
Okay, time seriously flies way to fast when you get older. I can remember being a child and thinking the days never ended. But now I blink and they are over. Can you believe two years ago today I was at the hospital trying to get Chloe out. She was so stubborn she didn't want to come out. So finally at 6:30 my doctor said lets get her out. And at 6:55pm I had given birth to a beautiful baby girl. Well, that beautifull baby girl has now turned into a beautiful big girl. She is officially 2 years old today. It makes me sad to know that time has gone by way to fast. Even though I cherish every moment I have had with her, I am still sad to know that she is growing more and more each day. She is becoming more independant so soon she really isn't going to need mommy and daddy's help anymore. She already sleeps in a big girl bed, she doesn't use a nummy anymore, and she won't let us help her feed herself. She wants to do everything on her own.
Tonight we are celebrating by going to dinner to Pasta House with family and then we are giving her her big present from us tonight. So check back over the weekend for pictures of her present from mommy and daddy and pictures from her birthday party on Saturday.

Pregnancy post
I would just like to take a second and say something about being pregnant and alive. With everything that pregnant women worry about or the new "findings" saying it's bad for you to do this, eat that, etc while being pregnant, I find it absolutely a miracle that so many of us survived past the fetus stage, heck even the embryo stage. I am one that fully believes that if God didn't want us to have the knowledge of things he wouldn't make them execessable, but seriously everything is in his hands whether you eat that lunch meat or drink the regualr soda while pregnant.
Okay that being said I will explain alittle bit on why I am having this rant/post. I lurk on a specific board about pregnancy now that I am pregnant. I tend to look to see if someone asked something I would be interested in knowing about or if there is a question I feel I can answer I answer it. But there are so many pregnant girls out there that seriously are alittle crazed now that they are pregnant. Now mind you, I have no issues on becoming pregnant and that might be why I feel some of this is silly. But seriously, no deli meat? Guess what world, I had a wonderful turkey sandwich the other day and I did not heat my meat up. Oh and one day, I ate a hot dog. Someone beat me. Oh and I also ate Feta cheese and will this week too when I make gyros. I guess my friend who's little girl is perfectly normal in her womb should be stoned for drinking soda while she was pregnant (sometimes I think she sneaks them still too..lol).
So the main point of all this is I can't believe the world exsisted prior to now. Seriously, how did I live, I am pretty sure my mom smoked while pregnant with my sister and I. And NO for those who know, the smoking had nothing to do with what Nicole had. Nicole was destined for her path and the smoking didn't make it happen nor help it happen. I know for a fact that I was brought home in the back seat of a car on my Grandma's lap. Oh no, child abuse. Now I know that some of the things have taken place to insure the safetyl of our children and I would never think of letting Chloe go without her carseat. But has anyone else ever thought about this? I would bet my Grandma smoked with my mom and her sisters.
Okay so moral of this post is this, I can't believe I am alive, nor my mom, my dad, my aunts, etc. Cause back then we were neanderthals.

Meet our other Child
On February 12, I had my 9w5d appointment. Well, first I thought I was farther along than what I am, which bummed me out alittle. But I got to get an u/s because I was farther along to hear the heartbeat and see the baby. I decided that I am going to bring Chloe with me to the none invasive appointments so she can have a visual of what is going on in our life. She was actually very good, better than I expected. Most of the girls in the office haven't seen Chloe since she was like 2 wks old. So they couldn't believe how big she was nor that she will be 2 in just a few weeks.
So we got there and Chloe imediately was acting like the ham she is. She played with the toys in the office and when the nurse called me, Chloe walked right through the door like she had been there recently. I got weighed and lost 4 pounds, which is just fine since I am overweight. My doctor and my's goal is to not gain anything this time around. So we went in the exam room and she sat on the table with me. I need to remember to ask what my blood pressure is so I can monitor it as well. But all my first labs came back great. So Dr. Steve came in and he was so surprised with how big Chloe was too. He was great with her, asking her if she was going to have a brother or sister. But of course she said "huh?" He decided to take us to the the ultra sound room, which made me very happy.
So we got in the room and all ready to see the baby. The entire time I kept pointing to the screen (which the machine looks alot like a computer) and telling her to watch cause her little brother or sister would be on there. She really didn't understand. So then we saw the baby. The baby looked as though it was laying on it's back with the 4 limb buds showing(apparently you can't call them arms and legs at this point). Then we saw the baby flap all 4 parts. It was really cute, kinda looked like Chloe when she attempts to throw a tantrum. I could see the spine and the baby's head is huge! Seriously Chloe had a huge head and this one does too so far..lol. I am glad I won't be pushing that head out. Anyway, so then Dr. Steve went to the heart. It was so neat. We both tried to tell Chloe it was the heartbeat of the baby but she just doesn't understand which is fine I know she will start understanding over the summer. I think I am going to get my mom's stethescope and try to get Chloe to hear her heart beat. It was a really cool appoitment and I am glad Chloe was there. Here is the picture he gave me. I added info on what parts are what.

Sleep
Last night when putting Chloe to bed she was alittle more resistant than usual. So I sat in her room with her and tried to rock her like I did when she was little. Well, that didn't work either. So I talked to her. I asked her which bed she wanted to go to sleep in. But she didn't answer. I placed her on the floor and asked her to show me which bed she wanted to sleep in that night. To my surprise she pointed at her new "big girl" bed. I told her to climb on up and I would cover her up. I sat there with her for about 10 minutes patting her butt. Then the floor started making my back hurt, so I kissed her, told her to call me if she got scared, and left. She went right to bed. No crying, nothing. She cried out once in the night but fell quickly back asleep. Of course I kept dreaming she fell out and thumped on the floor, so I didn't sleep too great (but it also had nothing to do with Dave's excessive snoring cause he wasn't feeling great).
So fast forward to the morning. The alarm for Dave goes off at about 6:30. And still I had not heard a peep. So I laid there kind of dosing in and out waiting for her to wake. Well, finally at about 7:30 I hear Chloe stirring and then I hear, "Mom, I up." She ws happy which made me happy. She didn't cry or anything when she got up. I am so proud of our big girl. She is growing up so fast.
It also has been 3 weeks since she offically stopped using the nummy (well that I cut it to where she couldn't hold it in her mouth). She has only asked for it 3 times and for some reason that has been this week. We just tell her that it is broken and she say, "oh." (But you have to picture her face, she pouts out her lips in an "o" shape and holds it there for about 3 minutes. It is too cute. I will try and get a picture of it next time she does it.

Snow Day
So as most of you know, since you watch the news, we got some snow the other day. I think we got about 7 inches at our house but I didn't take a ruler outside with me.
The day it was snowing Chloe was so excited to have snow. She knew what it was and would stand on the couch looking out the window to watch it fall. She couldn't wait to get out and go play in the snow. But when Friday came around she didn't want to have anything to do with, so I didn't push it. When Dave got home I was for sure she would want to go out and play in the snow with her daddy, but still she didn't want to have anything to do with it. Well, this morning she was ready. She got a really nice snow suit from her Great Aunt Lisa and Jen so we of course she wore that snowsuit (even though we have a 12 month one that still fits her perfectly..lol). Let me tell you about this suit, it has it's own shoes with it. It is pretty cool. Chloe really enjoyed playing in the snow but she would not let us put her gloves on (so yes, she is touching the snow with just her hands). We stayed outside for about 20 minutes because I did worry about her hands getting too cold but that was long enough for Chloe. She laughed at the dog Punkin who would chase snowballs then get very confused when she couldn't find them in the snow. Chloe even threw a couple snowballs at daddy, one even was a good hit in his chest. I hope you enjoy the pictures form today.
