Some Progress

With Chloe's room that is. I am excited to announce tonight I purchased Chloe's quilt for her toddler bed and now have a reason to start focusing getting her room cleaned out and going. It is a Pottery Barn Kid's quilt that I was able to get on ebay for a steal. Originally the quilt was 79.99 and I was able to pick this baby up for only $25.00. I am totally excited. Now I am going to have to write down all my ideas on how to decorate. My next purchase that I want to do are letters for her name. I wanted to see if my dad could cut them out, most of you know my mom did crafts when I was young so he does have mean jigsaw kills, but my mom thinks at his age it might be alittle much..lol. Just kidding she just thinks it would be more of a PITA (pain in the A$$) for him. So we will spend the money.

So I am going to steal 2 pictures from Melissa's blog (credit given in full to Melissa L) to show you my ideas on how I want the room. Now remember these are from her baby's nursery, just imagine them with "big girl" furniture. On the right are her stripes that I absolutely love. I love them so much, I actually made them the basis for Chloe's room. I wanted a quilt with some style, but enough colors that I could do stripes on the lower part of the wall. So with the quilt in mind (picture above), I am planning on just doing pink and green stripes. And the pink will probably be a light pink. The next picture I added (left) sort of shows the chair railing that separates the bottom and top of the wall. Well, instead of the chair railing (this was my creative mom's idea) we will make about a 2-3 inch stripe with a darker pink to separate the sections. The top have of the wall will be a cream color. I would also like to point out the name Melissa has above the crib. That is the font I will be choosing for both Chloe and the new baby (it was actually the font I suggested her to get when she originally was asking which one I like for her baby's room. So I am taking her name idea, but she used my suggestion on the font..lol). I think I am going to have the seller paint Chloe's letters to match her quilt. But I am not 100% sure because Melissa has suggested using scrapbook paper to decoupage the letters. So I might do that too (of course with her help..lol). But that decision will be made one i have the quilt in hand. For the new baby (to note) I will probably just have her letters in white so when she gets her "big girl" room, they can be painted to match.

So I feel now I have focus. Originally I just didn't have that "umph" to get going on it because I wasn't excited about anything. WE have a back up quilt that we were going to use but I just didn't have that "love it" feeling towards it so I knew I was not going to be happy with that quilt. I am totally happy ans extremely excited to start. Little does Dave know we are starting this weekend. Well, my mom and I started about a month ago and made huge progress, but there is still plenty to do.
